With reference to War Office

letter No. 083/5549 (C.2) of the 20th

of January, 1927, I am, etc., to transmit

to you, to be laid before the Army Council

the accompanying copy of a despatch from

the Governor of Hong Kong, enclosing the

transcript of an Ordinance to amend and

consolidate the law relating to the

Hong Kong Volunteer Defence Corps and

together with a copy of a report by the

Attorney-General of Hong Kong on the

Ordinance.

2. The Secretary of State would

be glad to receive any observations that
